Boggabri is on the Kamilaroi Highway between Gunnedah and Narrabri.

Boggabri was proclaimed a township in 1860 and after a slow start grew into a progressive small town when the railway opened in 1882.

The town was on the early Cobb and Co Route. Incidentally, Boggabri is the only town in the Namoi Valley that does not get flooded.

There is some fine old architecture in the town. Boggabri has fine Multi Purpose Hospital with 2 doctors.

Boggabri has a 9 whole golf course, bowling club and RSL club. A modern motel, caravan park with ensuite at all sites (no cabins) and two hotels.

Some attractions are Gin’s Leap, Iron Bridge, and Dripping Rock to name a few.

Cotton picking will be under way before the end of April with the cotton gin in operation. On the weekend 29th & 30th April tours will be arranged to points of interest.
