New on the market are Crazy Dog Canvas roof top tents based in Maryborough Queensland. Owner Jason Hogan said the best attribute of the all Australian made product is a quick set up and pack up time.

A 2300x1600x3mm aluminium box section frame with a carpeted plywood base supports the comfortable 125mm thick Queen size medium density foam mattress.

The tent is constructed using Australian made Wax Converters 14.9 oz Dynaproof DX12 canvas on the roof while the walls have a lighter 11.9 oz Dynaproof Billabong canvas. It comes standard with a room divider consisting of canvas and flyscreen walls to keep the bugs out when the living area is not zipped on. The canvas can simply be zipped down on those chilli nights or roll them up in summer for good air circulation. One of the best features about these tents is their ability to stand alone with no ground poles unless you are adding on the kids room.

The starting price is $3,690 for the basic roof top tent. The roof top tent walls are extra. Further pricing is subject to the customers optional canvas configuration & accessories.

Options include:
* 2300x2200mm zip-on walls with sewn in PVC floor
* 3750x1950mm wide zip-on awning
* 2400mm x 2200mm zip-on kid’s room which can be also be set up as a free standing tent.
* canvas mattress protector to keep bedding dry when packing up a wet tent. It also can be used as a swag for those extra chilli nights.
* 3x 12 volt sockets for charging mobile phones at night
* LED strip light with dimmer switch for reading in bed
