2022 Walcha national meet write up

Post by robcaz » Thu Oct 20, 2022 1:15 pm

Hi all,

Please find a write up of the 16th national meet recently held in Walcha NSW added to the past events page https://www.campertrailers.org/walcha22.htm

We would like to thank those members who helped us set up the showground before gates open & also returned the grounds, pavilion & amenities to what they were before our arrival on the Saturday morning before we departed ready for the Walcha Pony Clubs week of activities.

Thanks to those who kept an eye on the amenities, topping up paper when needed, mopping & sweeping over the week.

Thank you to those members & invited guests who hosted an activity or information workshop during the week.

And finally a huge thanks to the Walcha community for the input into the national meet week & the friendliness shown to members.

From feedback already recieved by members, the group as a whole injected around $40,000 into the local ecomony over the week, not including any money raising in the showground itself. If you attended the national meet you will find a feedback form emailed to your nominated address.

The 17th national meet will be held in Eugowra in the Central Western region of New South Wales from Monday 25th to Friday 29th September 2023.

In case you were wondering there is only 340 days until Eugowra 2023.

Hi all,

During the Australian CamperTrailers Groups 16th national meet held in the Walcha Showground last September, members raised $611 via a raffle plus personal donations from members with the proceeds donated to the Walcha Central School breakfast club. We have received an email from the principle Amanda Cooper…..

As our school year closes we have reflected about all that we’ve done at school this year and those who have supported us. I wanted to take the opportunity to sincerely thank you and all the attendees at the Walcha CamperTrailers meet, for your generous donation from your raffle at the Walcha meet in September this year. It was lovely to be able to meet you and be part of your closing ceremony. The money is much appreciated and supports our breakfast club and lunch voucher program.

As mentioned at the closing, we offer an inclusive breakfast club program called “Toast and Talk’ each morning for every student across K-12 to enable them to engage in their learning, having had breakfast and chat with our student support officer, chaplain and other staff. Since 30 August this year we have additionally provided 76 lunch vouchers at a cost of $5:00 each for students without food or inadequate food for the day. The financial assistance provided by your camper trailer meet raffle, significantly contributed and enabled us to provide this valuable welfare support to our students.

We thank you most sincerely for this support and the partnership it provides us at Walcha Central School……

You can find the national meet write up on the past events page https://www.campertrailers.org/walcha22.htm

We are sure next years national meet at Eugowra will also benefit the community & help them get back of their feet after the devastating floods leveled the town.
