Post by BillyBS » Mon Jul 07, 2014 9:04 pm

Hi All

I have a mate who has just bought a Jayco "PopTop" camper, it's around 10 years old, but does he need a Road Worthy or Safety Certificate before he picks up??

Cheers guys

Might help if you say what State he's in!
In Victoria you don't need a RWC for a caravan or trailer unless it's got Commercial Registration, which is unlikely.

If he picks it up, fills in all the paperwork, ready for it to be processed and registered, I am sure he can then tow it straight home or straight to the place of rwc.
It's the same for all trailers, as I was going to buy a trailer. I also took my car trailer into work for a rwc, but had all forms filled in case of pulled over.
I would however, jump onto the qld transport site, and double check "buying a caravan/trailer" information.

We get "east coast mobile safety certificates".
He's done my brothers cars, and he's done the motorhomes and vans we sell on commission bases. very fair yet very easy.
One van past, but he told us about what will need servicing soon, which was good.
