Western Victoria: Rocklands Reservoir

Post by TentOnWheels » Thu Nov 22, 2018 8:45 pm

Hello, All.

We are planning a family getaway for a week or so in one of the three camping sites adjacent to the Rocklands Reservoir in January 2019.

Have other members recently spent any time in one of these sites?
If you have experienced more than one of the sites, do you have a preference and why?
Any experential do's or don'ts you wish to pass on?

If you travelled in summer, any observations worth noting?
According to http://www.storagemanager.com.au/reserv ... el-summary,the current water level is 39%.
I wonder at what water level does the Reservoir become 'not worth while'.
(Thinks: holidays > kids > water play)

There seems to be very little information posted in any forums relating to the campgrounds, yet government sites make claim to it being one of the most popular freshwater lake destinations. This seems a contradictory situation.

Thanks, in advance, for any thoughts.
