I Assume you mean the Hema Explorer App.
I have it on the iPad and iPhone.
Its not bad given the price (Hema 4WD Maps app cost me around $150)
Some greater detailed maps do cost extra if you want them.
eg.
Cape York
Fraser Island
Great Desert Tracks
High Country Vic
The Kimberley

It can be in Street view, Terrain View, or Sat View. Sat View requires internet connection.
It can not do turn by turn navigation and on the ipad requires 3G capability on the device. Non 3G ipads do not have a GPS. You can get a plugin GPS as an option for non 3G iPads.
The GPS in these devices sucks the device battery very heavily. They need to be on charge when used or it go flat in no time.
If you need turn by turn directions you can click on the destination and you get the option of Apple or Google maps to show the way (needs internet connection).

I find it quite good but it does get its knickers in a knot sometimes if you expand the resolution too much.

Dunn's Swamp does come up OK with the tracks in the area. I'd post a screen shot but that may breach their copyright.
Overall I think its a good app that will keep getting better. I use it more that the other Hema App now.

Hi Pete,

Unfortunately all the tracks in & around the Ganguddy Campground at Dunns Swamp in Wollemi National Park are gated & locked, except for the road in. Definately a place to visit mid week to enjoy the solitude of the place http://www.robcaz.net/dunns_swamp.htm

Hi Pete,

A number of members have the Hema maps App on their iPads. Keith will have his at the upcoming Newnes weekend so you will be able to check it out.

As Kev said you do need an iPad with GPS.
