Small generator for Avan Cruiseliner

I have recently purchased an off road Avan Cruiseliner and enjoy going to free camp sites off road. To utilise the accessories in my van I need electricity. I am looking to purchase a small (can be carried by one person) and quiet generator for charging the on board battery and as a short term back up for other features.( microwave) I would prefer diesel because my tow vehicle is diesel, but it appears these are large and in short supply. Can anyone give recommendations please?
