			Hi thanks for the offer.
Wondering what the best phone for reception in marginal areas would be.
I bought a telstra blue tick phone that has an antenna port (have never attached one)
but the wife has an iphone 4 that has reception when mine or a friends new samsung do not.
What would be the best antenna to buy for a phone (to mount on bull bar)?
Kerry

I will be watching this thread .Just about to get a new phone and wondering the same question.
Do we think that Telstra is the better network.

I've played with an external antenna on my blue tick phone and not found much improvement. I guess this is cos mobile reception has to be line of sight. Comparing blue tick with T phones sitting on an induction loop/fixed external antenna, again the blue tick phone performed no better but the others became usable.
The best result from a Choice/NFF test was something like 46 km - outback with only one tower in the area (without external antenna).
My blue tick phone gets about 4 bars where other Telstra phones get 1-2.
In terms of coverage the big T is the only real option unless you have limited destinations and an Optus tower is there.
