a look around my camper trailer

The annex has had extra windows put in and each window has an awning to protect the inside from the weather. The latest addition is a 7’8” X 20” wide kitchen made by The Welding Spot in Currumbin Qld, made from aluminium and stainless steel and then powder coated to match the trailer.

The kitchen has a recess for the stove with a cupboard under for pots and pans. The sink is moulded into the kitchen with a fold down faucet which runs on a battery operated foot pump for water. There is a large cupboard for the pantry draws and containers for other products, then I have put in a Oates 3 draw system that is removable for cleaning. The kitchen slides easily and has an extension that is mounted on the back of the trailer to push the kitchen out another 6 or 8 inches away from the back of the trailer. This extension is removable and stores on top of the kitchen for traveling.

Since adding the kitchen, the storage side of the trailer is far more practical for packing the balance of camping gear. The original foam mattress has been replaced with a custom made Makin Mattress memory foam mattress at a cost of around $800.00. The inside of the trailer is accessible from outside or by lifting the mattress on gas struts from the inside, I believe that instead of taking 1 to 1 1/2 hrs to set up should cut this time by half.

I run 2 x 3 way fridges on one 9kg gas bottle, one doubles as a deep freeze if required. My camp is basically run on gas and a battery pack to run the shower pump. If I am on longer than a week camp I have an Engel generator to charge the battery back etc if required, don’t need to use it very often.

The brakes at this time are standard and I have not experienced any problems there. I don’t have a water tank under, find that the 40 litres on the trailer is sufficient, if need be I can carry another 40 litres in the car, the tank that fits my trailer only holds 75 litres anyway.
