We bought
our Castaway Camper Trailer in June 2007
after comparing the various brands and
models that were in display at the
Brisbane Caravan & Camping show. What
sold us on this particular brand was the
Velcro floor which made for easy removal
for cleaning the stainless steel kitchen
box and the price was within our budget.
In the first couple of months after
taking delivery, the camper had to go
back to the manufacture twice to correct
manufacturing defects (wrong tent, wrong
axle).
I have done some additional
modifications myself to make the camper
easier to use such as adding a bracket
to attach a bike carrier and tidying up
the plumbing.
We have been on a couple of weekend
trips as well as a week long trip to
Carnarvon Gorge in October 2007 and find
that the setup is reasonably quick and
simple. I prepare the camper after every
trip so that it always ready to go at
short notice.
The hardest part now is finding free
weekends to schedule in more trips.
