Usually when twist lock tent poles jamb they are hard to release by hand, even with two people gripping either side of the join, however a simple solution is a pair of strap wrenches.

Setting up two fully adjustable strap wrenches in opposite directions will give a firm grip on a tent pole to easily release even the most stubborn twist lock tent pole that may be locked together without damage to the pole.

Another use around the camper trailer & vehicle is to grip a removable antenna on the bullbar that will not unscrew. Also great to release those jam jar lids.    

The strap wrench comes in two sizes, 100mm at $7.20 & 160mm at $14.48 and can be found in the tool section at Bunnings.
