CAMPOVEN MORNING TEA
At last years national meet we tried a campoven cooking competition. It was very
hard to separate a winner, so this year we decided to have a campoven morning
tea, where everyone could bring along their favourite campoven bread, damper,
scones or cake & sample what other treats where on the table. Once again there
were some outstanding delights presented.
Amongst the fare was a plate of
lamingtons made by Margaret Durante & offered to Kevin by Helen. Kevin reclined
the offer. Rob was asked if he would like a lamington which he readily accepted.
First bite..... mmmmmm a little tough, so a bigger bite was needed. He soon
found that the lamington centre was not sponge, but foam. Ok we are even now
Robyn, Helen, Coxy & Gus. hahahahahahaaa
GPS
WORKSHOP Kevin Beckworth assisted by Bruce Bates presented a very
informative talk on GPS related to 4wding & touring. Kevin showed the difference
between various brands & models of handheld GPS units & how they could be
connected to a laptop with a range of different software to produce moving maps.
He spoke of how a laptop in the front of a vehicle could cause injury in the
event of an accident & could be avoided by using a touch screen.
TAME THE TOILET TENT John Heath was there to defend his 13
second title of fastest man on earth to fold a change tent.
Many stepped up to try their luck but most failed. Then out from the
crowd stepped Jason from Dynamic Solar Solutions. With a wave of the toilet tent
he had it folded in a blink. New record of 5 seconds. The crowd went wild. Just
to show it wasn't a fluke he repeated the feat not once, but twice. What can we
say???
