The Australian CamperTrailers
Group's 17th national meet was held over the week from Monday 25th
to Friday 29th September 2023 in the Eugowra Showground at Eugowra,
located in Central Western New South Wales.
The week attracted 137 people in
67 camper
trailers, caravans, motorhomes & tents from Queensland,
New South Wales & Victoria. It was great to see such a diverse group of people attending
from all walks of life enjoying the camaraderie of like-minded people.
Half of the members arrived on Friday when gates to
the showground were
opened. The rest arrived over Saturday & Sunday in anticipation for
the week to come.
The entire week was the warmest of any national meet
held. The days were warm to hot, thankfully with a pleasant breeze, while the nights were
cool enough to enjoy an evening around the campfire with friends. The
temperature dropped to single figures most mornings. A thunderstorm rolled through one afternoon
and some rain fell, just enough to wet the ground. A big thank you goes
to the woodchoppers who attended the Eugowra Show the week before for
donating firewood & also to the Eugowra Showground who made sure
there was plenty of wood on hand.
Independent state member for Orange Mr Philip Donato MP & wife Nadia were
in the area & dropped in to say hi & to thank the group for choosing
Eugowra to hold its 17th national meet. Philip donated a two person pass
to attend NSW parliament question time & lunch on him in the dinning room for the
auction night.
