   breakfast

Wednesday was Glen Innes community day with activities & demonstrations provided by the local community. The day started with breakfast being cooked by the Glen Innes men's Shed. On the menu was bacon, eggs, sausages & hot baked beans along with bread or toast & a cup of tea or coffee. It was great to see everyone coming along to support the men's shed who did a fantastic job providing us with a meal to start the day.

The modern Men’s Shed is an updated version of the shed in the backyard that has long been a part of Australian culture. Not only is it a place for men to learn skills from one another, but where they can also take an interest in their own health & well-being in an atmosphere of old-fashioned mateship.

Bill Hardie was on hand with some of his beautiful inlay work all of which was for sale.

sheep dog trials

With sheep once again provided by local grazier Dick Hartman, the dogs of Garry Barker & Errol Brettschnider were put through their paces on a set timed course. Just to show how hard it really is Mike asked for several volunteers from the kids with a parent. It was funny to see Terry Agland telling the kids what to do in getting the sheep through the barriers. Thanks to Mike Condon for organising this event & to answer the many questions.
