Wednesday was Gulgong community day
with breakfast being cooked by the Showground Society.

the pavilion.
boles competition
The seventh annual soft floor
(softies) V's hard floor (tin billycans) camper trailer boles competition
was played for the Nyngan Cup trophy hosted by Greg Carthew. The defending
champions, Mal & Greg retired unbeaten and did not play.
There were six people including
kids playing for the hardies and four players for the softies.
Spectators cheered and booed each and every shot, sometimes accompanied
by spectacular mexican waves. After strenuous struggles on both sides
the winning team for the softies were Peter & Deidre Clarke and for the
hardies, Chris Rogers and Craig Quinn.
Under the watchful eye of referee Greg Carthew, a hard fought battle
ensued with the game starting out evenly scored, but slowly the softies
pulled away. In a thrilling finish the softies triumphed with a 13 to 7
points win.

Nigel & Amelia Welsh hosted a kids triathlon
which included a sack race, egg & spoon race & three legged race.
fold the
toilet tent
Happy hour give time for everyone to catch up
& have a laugh with the fold the toilet tent competition. Fastest
time was Terry Agland.
an evening at
the prince of wales opera house
Henry Lawson described the Prince of Wales
Opera House as one of those “rough built theatres and stages where
the world’s best actors trod”. A performance of “Lawson's Gulgong
Mates” was preformed by the Gulgong MADS with a billy tea & damper
supper. Members were encouraged to attend in colonial or bush dress
for the occasion, adding to the atmosphere of the evening.
