19th national meet at Ariah Park NSW

Australian CamperTrailers Group
2025 national get together
at Ariah Park NSW

the week

workshops & activities

The weeks workshops & events began from the Monday after lunch with members & invited guests hosting a number of workshops on a variety of subjects relating to camper trailers, travel & camping in general. Being an internet based group there are subjects where the information cannot be easily exchanged through typing & this is where the national meet gives the perfect opportunity for face to face workshops.

Workshops presented by members included ropes, rachet straps & knots by Craig Quinn, a ladies morning  tea hosted by Carol Sanderson, caravan & camper trailer accessories & spares by Sean McCombe, a camper trailer & caravan walkabout with Dave Cook & Kevin Phillips, poets corner & music evening hosted by George Mavros & Keith Brown, GPS mapping by Barry Collier & GPS security trackers by George Mavros.

Invited guests included long time Australian CamperTrailers member Colin Hopgood owner of BEST Water Filters who presented a session on obtaining reliable drinking water while travelling plus tips when using the water filter. Michael Harper owner of
Bathurst Batteries along with Sealed Performance Batteries state sales manager Darren Ulbricht spoke about LiFePO4 Lithium batteries which are now a common upgrade from the traditional AGM deep cycle batteries used in camper trailers & caravans. They showed the inside of a Lithium battery, the cells & spoke of the correct chargers, charging & discharge & depth of discharge.

Tours were arranged to Rita & Rowan Bromfield's  “Hazeldean” Farm on Sunday & Monday for afternoon tea, a look around the old cottage museum, memorabilia, horse drawn farm equipment, sulkies, wagons, harness & Clydesdale horses.

Members were invited to Terry & Dominica Walker's farm where they spoke about farming along with daughter Holly. Everyone had a close inspection of the large modern farm machinery used on cropping farms.

On Thursday afternoon a large number of members drove to nearby Temora visiting the
Railway Museum which opened especially for our visit, the Aviation Museum & the Bundawarrah Centre which houses the Rural & Ambulance Museums.

Auctioneer Joel Fairman kept a steady pace with plenty of laughter as the 81 items donated by members & the Ariah Park community were bid on during the auction evening. Top bids were for the brake fluid, blinker fluid, 12volt replace smoke & bubble level fluid pack making $710, while a painting by our artist member Louise Burton went for $650. In all  $5,345 was raised with proceeds donated to the Ariah Park Community Projects Committee.

The popular trivia night was hosted by Barry & Elaine Collier and Shane & Kim Worth. The gold coin entry totaled $530 with proceeds to the Ariah Park Community Projects Committee. There was further money raising during the night with $650 donated to the stroke foundation. The perpetual Joy Wilkinson Memorial trivia trophy was presented to the winning team.
